This is so rare for me, but this was my first day at the pool and it was beautiful!  The weather was amazing!  It was only in the low 100s and there was a fantastic breeze.  Such a great, lazy day!

It's kind of hard to see exactly what I was shooting at here, but it's an outdoor fan with a mister.  All the patios in Dallas have these because it's just too hot to be outside without them.  It's actually been a relatively cool summer so far, but yesterday was finally a hot one!  We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the cool, wet air of these glorious fans last night.  This is my favorite time of the year!

Tonight is my first night to have my dogs back and I needed to hug them a little tighter tonight.  My parents' wonderful dog of 14 1/2 years, Theo, went to "doggy heaven" this past weekend.  It's not something you ever want to think about, but it does make you appreciate your best friends a little more.  I will always love my little Theo and I will be sure to squeeze Ellie and Queso a little tighter tonight.

This is the beautiful raspberry bush in Pat's parents backyard in Indiana. It is absolutely beautiful and the berries  fresh and delicious! I would love to have a big plant like this so I could pick fresh berries any time I wanted.

These are 3 of my very best friends and we unfortunately don't get to see each very often. We had the chance to catch up this weekend and it was so wonderful! It felt like no time had passed at all!  I can't wait we can meet up again!

One of my favorite bars that I frequent is called Barcadia.  It is a bar that is basically in a large garage and it is full of the original arcade games that we all grew up with.  It is so fun to just relax and feel like a kid again.

I love the contrast in the sky in this photo.  I love on the right it is still a bright and beautiful sky and on the left you can see the dark storm clouds moving in.  It really shows how quickly the weather and the sky can change.  Really beautiful!

Happy Father's Day to the best Dad a girl could ask for!  I can't thank my Dad enough for being such a great role model, teacher, coach, friend, provider, and all around wonderful person!  I am so lucky to have him in my life!  I love you, Dad!

We went on a tour of one of the local breweries in Dallas and it was such a neat place!  There was a band, tacos, and the beer was super tasty!  Their logo is a rooster, so everything has a fun rooster on it.  I love the small, local places like this.  It made for a fun night.

Many of you know that my favorite beer in the world is Texas' own Shiner Beer.  This happens to be their Light Blond edition and it is just as phenomenal as the original.  It was super hot today with 80% humidity (normal Texas weather), so I thought that a lighter cold beverage would be a beautiful ending to my evening.

We had the most beautiful sunrise this morning.  The gym I go to is on the 3rd floor and it has the most beautiful view of the sun coming up.  The highlight of going to the gym when it's still dark is that you get this view on your way out. Just beautiful!

 During our road trip this weekend, Pat and I drove through this tiny little town.  It was so empty that it seemed like a ghost town, but it was also super neat!  I love little towns like this.  They remind me of the little town that my Mom grew up in. Small, but full of history.

Pat and I drove to a town outside of Tyler, Texas today, which is about 2 1/2 hours east of Dallas.  There is a drive through safari there and it was beyond cool!  So many fun animals and they come right up to your car!  A few even got up close and personal by sticking their heads in the car.  It was such a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

The start of summer is almost here and nothing says summer more than baseball.  I loved playing softball during the summer and I loved going to watch baseball games, whether it be little league or the local team.  It also brings me back to my childhood every time I see a field or see kids out playing and getting dirty.  It really is such a great past time.

I had to share these photos of Queso.  He really does not enjoy it when I come home from work and study instead of giving him my full and undivided attention.  I know I shouldn't laugh, but the poor little guy looks so distressed!  He's so precious and all he wants is to be cuddled and to be the center of your attention.  I have no idea how he got like this...... :)

This fruit I had for lunch was so bright and beautiful!  It was fresh and juicy and tasted so yummy on a hot and humid day.  Fruit is one of my favorite things in the world, but it is even better on a hot day.

I love this flower. It looks so rustic and reminds me of something you would find on a lavender farm.  I love tropical looking flowers, but I also love the flowers that feel like they bring you back to your roots.  I didn't grow up on a lavender farm, but I am a good old Midwestern girl at heart.

I was at a little restaurant today having lunch today and there were these adorable flower boxes with tiny purple and white flowers.  The best thing was the little mushrooms that happen to sprout up in the middle of the flowers!  I'm sure that most people would not be pleased with mushrooms growing in their flowers, but I thought they were adorable!  A little extra gift from mother nature.
